Interior Painting FAQs — Rugby
How soon can you paint on new plaster?
New plaster needs to dry fully before painting — typically at least four to six weeks, though this depends on thickness and ventilation. We'll assess the plaster on our visit and advise accordingly, often using a diluted mist coat as a first application.
Should I choose matt or eggshell paint for my walls?
Matt emulsion suits most living rooms and bedrooms as it hides imperfections well. Eggshell or satin is better for kitchens, bathrooms and hallways where the surface needs to be wipeable. We're happy to advise on the best finish for each room.
Can you match a colour from an existing painted wall?
In many cases, yes. We can take a paint chip to a trade counter for colour matching. Results are very good but not always a perfect match on older paint, so we'd always advise painting a full wall rather than touching in a patch.
