Part 1

General & Getting a Quote

The easiest way is to call us or send photos of the area you want decorating via WhatsApp or email. For smaller jobs, photos are usually enough for us to give you a clear, itemised price. For larger projects — or anything that needs a closer look — we'll arrange a convenient time to visit and assess the work in person.

Yes, completely. We will visit your property, assess the work and give you a written quote at no charge, with no pressure to proceed. If you decide to go elsewhere or hold off on the work, that's absolutely fine.

We're based in Northampton, close to the M1, which means we cover a wide area efficiently. Our main areas include Northampton, Milton Keynes, Kettering, Wellingborough, Daventry, Towcester, Duston, Kingsthorpe, Wootton, Bletchley, Newport Pagnell and Wolverton. If you're not sure whether we cover your area, just call us.

For photo-based quotes on straightforward jobs, we aim to get back to you within 24 hours. For jobs requiring a site visit, we'll book in at a time that suits you — usually within a few days of first contact.

Yes, unless you specifically ask otherwise. Our standard quotes include all materials — paints, primer, filler, masking tape and so on. If you already have paint you want us to use, we can work with that and adjust the price accordingly. Just let us know when you get in touch.

Part 2

Domestic Decorating

For most indoor work, we'd ask you to clear the room of smaller items, ornaments and personal belongings. We'll move larger furniture to the centre of the room and protect it with dust sheets. If the room is particularly full, we can discuss the best approach when we visit to quote.

Absolutely. We work room by room wherever possible so the rest of your home stays usable throughout the project. We're used to working around families, home workers, children and pets — just let us know your situation and we'll plan accordingly.

It depends on the size and scope of work. A single room typically takes one to two days. A full house redecoration — all rooms, woodwork, ceilings and walls — might take one to three weeks. We'll give you a realistic timeframe when we quote and we'll stick to it.

We'll fix it. Before we finish and pack up, we do a walkthrough of all the completed work with you. If anything isn't right — a patch we've missed, a line that's not sharp enough — we'll put it right on the spot or return to do so. Your complete satisfaction is the only acceptable outcome.

Part 3

Kitchen & Furniture Spraying

We remove all cabinet doors and drawer fronts and take them to a controlled environment where they're cleaned, lightly sanded, primed and then spray-painted with a fine atomised finish. This gives a smooth, factory-quality result with no brush marks. Cabinet frames and boxes are masked and sprayed in situ. All units are refitted and re-hung once the paint has fully cured.

Yes — we can match virtually any colour. We work with leading paint brands including Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Dulux Trade and others. We recommend bringing a colour reference or a specific RAL/BS code if you have one, and we'll match it accurately. We can also advise on popular colours if you're not sure what would work best.

Most kitchen spray projects take two to three days from start to finish. We try to minimise the time you're without access to your kitchen — typically the main disruption is one day when units are off and another when they're refitted. We plan the work carefully to keep this as short as possible.

Part 4

Preparation & Materials

We use quality trade paints suited to each application — commonly Dulux Trade, Johnstone's Trade, Farrow & Ball (for premium finishes), Little Greene and specialist primers and undercoats where required. We match the product to the surface and the environment: for example, moisture-resistant formulations in bathrooms and kitchens, and appropriate exterior grades for outside work.

We never skip preparation — it's the single most important factor in the quality and durability of the finished result. Paint applied over cracks, bare or dusty surfaces, or without the right primer will fail quickly regardless of how good the paint itself is. Proper preparation is what separates a finish that lasts five or more years from one that starts to deteriorate within twelve months. It takes longer, but it's absolutely non-negotiable for us.

It depends on the surface, the colour and the paint system. As a general rule, we apply one coat of primer followed by two topcoats. Dark colours going over light, or pale colours going over dark, may need an additional coat. We never cut it to one coat to save time — we apply as many coats as the job needs to get an even, consistent finish.
